Clan First Tournament

I am happy to inform you all that our FIRST clan tournament is gonna be a 3vs3 tourny that will be held on june 25th (which is a saturday) around 9 USA time.( time may change)

ONLY clan members may join. we are gonna be having a "secret mystery prize" as Prankster told me. even i don't know what it is.

If you are interested in joining please post below, make sure to include your summoner name and your team's summoner names too. a team must consist of 3 clan members. If you have any questions you can ask below.

You can register anytime starting from now until june 23rd

The elimination will depends on the amount of teams we have.

Wow awesome, but sadly my cousins are coming over from Missouri that week (June 22) but I MIGHT be able to fit in some time to play, we'll see.

Doooon't worry, I'm sure Prank will pull them down hard. Justtt kidding <3. In all seriousness, though, 3s is pretty easy to focus 'one person,' so if Big is your only problem, just have your team be careful and ONLY initiate if you feel you can focus him.

Nope, looks like we're not going to be in the tourney. I'd be working for another 3 hours (give or take, depends on my work load for the day). Unless we show up fashionably late.

Hey Johnny we want to make the tourney at a good time for everyone. So, moving our time 12:00 MST might help y'all out. As well as scheduling your team for a later fight. Ideally if we dont get too many more teams then we will probably do a round robin style tourney. And, if we get more it will be brackets. With losses putting you into another bracket for a 2nd chance. Ideally everyone would get at least 2 matches in the bracket style with it being a best of 3 for each Match. After going to the losing bracket, the winning team in that bracket would fight a winning team from the winning bracket in their 3rd match. I hope these basic graphs I have made help to understand the concept.

Bracket Style Tourney (large amount of teams)

Qualifying matches

The Winners of the Qualifying matches
1 4 5 7

Teams 2, 3, 6, and 8 go to the Losing bracket for the Quarter-Finals, and Losing Bracket.

Quarter-Final ||||||||||||||||||||||Losing Bracket

The Winners of the Quarter-Finals.
1 7 3 6

Teams 4, 5, 2, and 8 are eliminated from the Tourney.

Semi-Finals

Teams 4, and 7 are eliminated.

Finals
1-6
Team 6 is victorious, and wins the tournament.

Round Robin (Small amount of teams)
1-2 3-4
2-3 4-1
1-3 2-4

In the Round robin type of tourney, all teams will face one another, and the team with the best record takes home the gold. We would still use the best of 3 games to decipher the winner of a match between 2 teams. In the event of a tie of Match win records (2 teams with a 2-1 record). 1 match (best of 2 out of 3) will be scheduled, and played between the two teams at another time in the future to decide the winner. It would have to be scheduled at another time to because of the amount of games that would be played that day.

If anybody has any more questions feel free to ask. Otherwise continue to follow the format in this thread for "registering" your team for the tourney. In fact it might be fun to come up with Team names as well to make the bracketing easier.

I want to make it abundantly clear that a team HAS TO REGISTER ON THIS THREAD to be part of the tourney. This needs to be done before 12:00 A.M. June 24th. Which means the latest you can register is 11:59 P.M. June 23rd. Please help me in referring this forum, and thread to other players within The Immortals community to make this a great successful first tournament.

But then it is not fair for teams 4 and 5... i think it is better if 4 and 5 get a 2nd chance to duel with 3 and 6 before the get eliminated. That would make it more fair for everyone.

The issues of establishing a well rounded tournament setup is very difficult. Especially when trying to get everyone to have a good couple of matches. I have a little experience as I used to be an event organizer for card tournaments, however we generally did points for wins/ties/losses and paired people with equal points. That way everyone kept playing. This helps when trying make sure everyone has a place (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.)

I stumbled upon this nifty tool if we really want to do a round-robin style, or a double round-robin even. Depending on the number of teams.
